CHARLIE SHOEMAKE & CENTRAL COAST JAZZ INSTITUTE

2ND & 4TH THURSDAY EACH MONTH

7 to 10 pm - Free Admission, suggested donation of $15.  RESERVATIONS - 805.927.0179

We are extremely fortunate to have Charlie Shoemake and his talented jazz students performing onstage at the Pewter Plough Playhouse. Come join us to see and hear some incredible jazz players.

Each evening features one of his jazz musicians, accompanied by Matthew Evans on Bass and Tom Brown on Drums. Charlie is on vibraphone and his wife Sandi sings.

"The Central Coast Jazz Institute is a non profit organization (501 C3) in Cambria, California, dedicated to the instruction and preservation of American jazz music. The CCJI founder is Charlie Shoemake, renowned jazz vibraphone artist with the George Shearing Quintet and long known as the pre-eminent instructor of jazz improvisation on the west coast.

For 18 years Charlie operated his noted jazz school in Los Angeles where he taught over 1500 students including many of todayʼs jazz greats such as Ted Nash–now of the Lincoln Center Orchestra–Andy Martin, regarded by many as the top jazz trombone player in the country, and trumpeter Kye Palmer, a long time member of the Tonight Show Orchestra.

The non-profit Central Coast Jazz Institute will continue that legacy."
