Mark Twain: At His Wit's End!

A Superb One-Man Play Tour de Force!

Only Fri-Sat-Sun, July 5, 6 & 7, 2013

We are pleased to present a return engagement of Mark Twain — At His Wit's End!, starring Tony Miratti, in his superb and uncanny portrayal of that wonderfully witty and legendary American humorist and philosopher, the superstar author of the classics Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. In a stunning, one-man play, Twain is artfully depicted as the affable raconteur and curmudgeon, regaling audiences with humorous and colorful tales and unexpurgated opinions from his extraordinary life — with so many of his satirical barbs highly resonant today! A captivating mix of insightful reflection and lively personal anecdotes! Miratti authentically captures the essence of Twain in his trademark white linen suit, specially made white wig, bushy mustache, unique vocal manner and presence, taking Cambria audiences back to another place and time!

This show was first presented at the Plough in 1999 to great acclaim. Tony Miratti is an accomplished actor, a native of Santa Barbara, who attended the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts and has extensive stage experience in New York, L.A. and Santa Barbara. Mark Twain — At His Wit's End! is compiled by David Sullins and Miratti from voluminous lectures, books and letters by the famous author; and directed by Maggie Mixsell.

"Miratti's transformation in the role is startling — digging deep into Twain's being — rendered with characteristic sparkle, the stories weave a rich tapestry of the American landscape" — Philip Brandes, Santa Barbara News-Press
